Here are some pics of the progress so far.

So far I’ve send to the workshop to have the interior stripped and off goes the gum and tar that is stuck below the carpets of the car.

It actually weights alot ! 2 big rubish bags of sticky harden tar all scrapped out probably weighing 5-10KG.

I also took out unnessasary parts of the project car such as the interior chairs and stuff

After all the glue has been grinned and taken out

the car looks like this

Off it goes into the next location

UltraRacing Malaysia’s Factory in Cheras.

DANCING AROUND CURVES : Malaysian Drifter Leona Chin Likens the Motorsport to the Art of Dancing, Writes Haris Kamal, Photos by Gary Lee

The exciting motorsports of drifting has been around for more than 30 years but has only gained popularity recently. Drifting is about tryinf to remain in a state of over steer, sliding the car round a corner.

Like most motorsport, drifting is dominated by men. A female drifter is a rare find, and in Malaysia, we are blessed with lovely lass Leona Chin.

She is not your Average girl, Looking at videos of her on the internet. You will be astonihed at the way she works wonders with her Nissan 200sx.

Chin, who stated drifting at the age of 20, grew up with boys who were mostly car enthusiasts. “I started to like cars ans went further by engaging in motorsports itself after watching drift events at Sunway Extreme Park four to five years ago,” said Chin.

“People were amazed and some didn’t believe me, but when they saw me drifting, they were shocked,” she added.

“Drifting is an art like dancing. Instead of using your body, you use the car to dance around curves. You just want to show the world your talent and entertain the audience,”said Chin.

“Honda Dc5 Type R has be my favourit car since high school. It’s fast and althought it isn’t a reat wheel drive like my Nissan 200sx. I still have a love for Honda cars. Between an S2000 and a Dc5, I prefer the latter.”

“I love the sleek looks and sportiness of the car. It also handles very nice on track and for daily driving. It’s such a pity its profuction has stopped.”

Although Chin’s hobbies are badminton and bowling – she even represented her school and college in bowling competitions – motorsports is her obsession. She enjoys both drifting events and racing cars, but drifting is what she holds close to her heart.

“So far, my greatest achievent is recognition by Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya from Japan when he visited the Sepang Super GT drift demo. After coutless participation in loval drift events, I managed to meet him in person. He even shared a few pointers with me.”

“In circuit racing, I have a great track time record of two minutes 29 seconds during the Merdeka Millenium Endurance Race Qualifying session. My team qualified second place in the class on the grid in 2008.”

“However, my most exciting experience was when I did a tandem drift side by side with Malaysia’s Prince of Drift Tengku Djan in a TV3 Shoot. We were door to door. It was unbelievable!” said Chin.

“Since female drifters are a rarity, it’s not easy for them to enter the scene,”said Chin.

“It’s not that easy. You need a lot of practice, a good car that you can rely on and a good team to help you with the mechanics of the vehicle. The most important thing is to have good sponsors to back you up financially because this kind of motorsport is expensive and sponsors can help to boost your personal branding when you compete in races.”

“In return, you help to boost the sponsors’ brand, which I believe is a win-win situation because there are very few female drifters in this male dominated sport and they will attract bigger crowds.”

Chin added:” As a drifter and racer, my role model is professional NASCAR driver Danica Patrickm who has many endorsements under her belt. I am amazed that she can overcome such high speed and even win some of the races.”

Chin seems to have the whole package — brawn, beauty and brains. She finished her Diploma in Advanced Driving Instuction UK in December 2009 and also has an Honours Degree in Business Management majoring in Finance from Northumbria University.

Written By: leona - Mar• 13•11

While I was working in my room, mom called out and told me that something was happening live on TV.
I turn on the TV and Oh My God!.. Japan was already having Tsunami and was sweeping the Cars into the land…
It was devastating. I straight away emailed my friends in Japan, but I haven’t heard any news from them yet. and it worries me.
Hopefully she is alright and because she is a nurse, most likely she is busy treating patients from the horrible natural disaster.
What now is the Nuclear Reactor Exploding?
That is really very worrying. I was really wanting to go to Japan but haven’t got the chance yet but earthquakes and tsunami’s I don’t know what will happen next.

I really hope my dear friends Hikaru and Hideo, Umemoto are SAFE.. please reply me~~ T_T

Universal Studios Singapore Trip

Written By: leona - Jan• 28•11

Last weekend, My friends and I took the plane to Singapore for a 3 days 2 nights trip.
We have been planning this for a long long time, even before our Sabah, Kapalai Mabul trip, That’s how early they have planned this trip.

Well it was really great luck that our weekend trip weather was nice and sunny with clear skies throughout the weekend. It was a Blast!! I’ve never walked so much and still had energy to walk some more in my life.
I knew it was going to be lots of walking so I invested myself a pair of really good Asics.

It looks almost the same as this pic but in purple

On our first day, we were up very early and took the earliest tiger airways flight which was 7.40am by the time we reached there it was about 8.30am, So we wasted no time and dropped our luggage at Marina Bay Sands and took the bus to Sentosa Island for our Universal Studio Singapore Exploration!

I got my pre-purchased tickets ready and we were in! They even gave us SGD10 Voucher for FoodnDrinks and shopping.

Universal is big~ Once you walk inside, You feel like in another country. like in Broadway? meh.. i don’t know.. i’ve never been to America.

After that we went to the FAR FAR AWAY place. where OGRE Shrek lives :D

Then to Madagascar’s Alex to say Hello~

Next we went to the Jurassic Park

Then we went to the Mummy lair.. and took a ride of my life! T_T. seriously, the indoor ride was fun!. but I had my eyes close ;P

After that it was walking around singapore hoooo~

A Call from mix.fm JD and Dilly

Written By: leona - Jan• 25•11

I got a Call yesterday morning, it was Dilly from Mix FM, She wanted to know my views on Women drivers and asked for my opinion.

Both Jd and Dilly were asking me ” whose the worser driver? Ladies or Men,
I can’t help to say that ladies are quite bad drivers. Coming from a Lady ( me)
I am quite sad to say but yes it’s true, i think lady drivers in Malaysia are quite bad at driving (in general)
I confess that I’m not very good at parking, and I’m pretty sure there are so many ladies out there that are just bad at judgement.

But I don’t think that men can get away with all the GOOD Driving..
They are RECKless drivers who don’t care about the surrounding.
Yes ladies are bad, they are blur and drive slow at times.. But Men drivers Loves to tail gate people and what’s more act as road bullies.

but one thing’s for sure, Don’t mess with Lady Mom drivers who are picking their Child up from school. they can be quite MEAN and GARANG.. I still remember when I was in Primary School. A lady knocked into my mom’s car and got down from her car and made a big fuss.. It was really no big deal but she was so angry!

That reminds me of this video i watched in malcom in the middle

Catch the podcast below of my interview with JD and Dilly. please don’t be mad

Happy New Year

Written By: leona - Jan• 02•11

The New Year has come!!
How did you celebrate your new year’s eve?

For me, I spent it with my loving mom and bowling champion Victoria Chin,
We Went to pyramid to have a fun game of bowling at about 9pm in the night up until 11pm.

Before that we were so busy shopping for clothes and shoes cause it was the last day of Malaysian Year End Sale (MYES) at we shopped at 1 Utama in the morning and ate lunch at Fish n Co the food wasn’t that nice, I didn’t like the way they cooked the fish.. they used the flour that we normally use to fry goreng pisang, we would have gone to Manhattan fish market but there wasn’t one in 1U .. T_T

at night we went over to pyramid for some more shopping and then ate at the bowling alley and played bowling..I didn’t play bowling for such a long time but I managed to play average 154 out of 3 games YEY!

We left the place at 11pm.. the sunwaywas crowded outside. everyone just parked their cars by the side of the road waiting for the fireworks to start. Every flyover was covered with cars to get the best highest view.

We rushed home cause my sis vic wanted to watch the fireworks from our house.

It was SPECTACULAR!  Once the fireworks finished we went back in the house and my sis called us and we had Video chat for 1 hour!.

The Next Day on New Years Day

We went to the temple in the noon, and at night we went to Icity to see the spectacular Tree lights :D

HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone!
